Every plan requires a static IP address
For security, every SpotCrime API key is bound to a static IP address. Your key only accepts requests from the IP(s) you register — requests from any other address are rejected. You’ll provide your static IP when you request access, and it must be on file before your key is issued. This applies to Developer, Pro, and Enterprise.
Subscriptions are billed monthly or annually. All fees are non-refundable. A static IP address is required to activate any key. API key delivered within 7 business days of purchase. Cancellation requires 10 days’ written notice before a monthly renewal, or 20 days’ before an annual renewal. View full license agreement →

When will I receive my API key?
After your access request is approved and payment is confirmed, your API key will be delivered to your email within 7 business days. Our team reviews all applications to verify intended use before issuing credentials.
What is the refund policy?
All API license fees are non-refundable, in whole or in part. This includes monthly subscription fees and any unused API calls. No refunds or credits are issued for early cancellation, partial periods, or unused capacity. To avoid being charged for the next billing period, cancellation notice must be received at least 10 calendar days before a monthly renewal, or at least 20 calendar days before an annual renewal. Do I need a static IP address?
Yes. Every SpotCrime API key is bound to a static IP address for security — your key only accepts requests from the IP(s) you register, and requests from any other address are rejected. This applies to all plans (Developer, Pro, and Enterprise). You provide your static IP when you request access, and it must be on file before your key is issued. You can register more than one IP, and you can update your registered IP(s) by contacting us. See our full Static IP Guide for five options, from asking your ISP to cloud NAT.
How far back does the API data go?
The API returns incidents from a rolling 90-day window on the Developer and Pro monthly plans. The Pro annual plan extends this to a 6-month historical lookback. Access to data beyond that, and to deeper datasets, requires an Enterprise license. Bulk historical archives are not served through the API — they are scoped to your needs and delivered separately in all standard formats via AWS S3. Contact us to scope a historical dataset.
How quickly does crime data update?
Our data refreshes every 15 minutes from police department feeds, 911 data, and verified public sources across 22,000+ cities.
What geographic coverage do you have?
We cover all 50 US states with varying density. Metro areas have near-complete coverage. Rural areas leverage FBI UCR data.
Can I use SpotCrime data in a commercial product?
Yes. All paid plans include a commercial use license. Enterprise includes white-labeling rights.
Do you integrate with family tracking apps?
Yes. We offer real-time crime alerts that integrate with any family safety or tracking app. Pre-built companion workflows are available on Pro and Enterprise plans.
Is there an SLA for uptime?
Pro plans include a 99.9% uptime SLA. Enterprise includes 99.99% with dedicated infrastructure.
