Where SpotCrime fits

The missing layer in converged security intelligence

Executive protection is converging: digital threat intelligence, travel risk, social monitoring, security operations, and physical response are becoming one workflow. SpotCrime adds the layer those systems usually lack — current, address-level crime incident context with source transparency.

Digital-threat tools do not own local incident truth

OSINT, sentiment, exposed-data, and travel-risk platforms can flag attention. SpotCrime supplies the verified local crime context around residences, routes, venues, hotels, and offices.

Executive protection needs a physical-risk layer

Advance teams need more than a generic city-risk rating. They need address-level incidents, trend direction, crime mix, source lineage, and alerting around places that matter right now.

Transparency is a competitive advantage

Surveillance-heavy security platforms create privacy and procurement friction. SpotCrime is built on public-record incident data, transparent sourcing, and defensible methodology.

Real-Time Incident Intelligence

Query reported crime around any address by latitude/longitude and radius, and get back point-level incidents — type, date, location, and description — on a rolling 90-day window. Benchmark cities with the free A–F Crime Grade. A proprietary 1–100 crime risk score that weights frequency, severity, and density is on our roadmap.

Frequently asked questions

What crime data does SpotCrime provide for executive protection teams?
A real-time API that returns address-level crime incidents for any U.S. point across 22,000+ cities, aggregated from police feeds, 911 systems, and verified public sources. Teams integrate the feed into their own protective-intelligence dashboards to monitor a principal's home, office, and travel locations.
How current is the incident data, and how far back does it go?
Incident data refreshes about every 15 minutes from most agencies. The API returns a rolling 90-day window on the Developer and Pro monthly plans; Pro annual extends this to a 6-month lookback, and Enterprise licenses cover deeper historical data and bulk archives delivered via AWS S3.
Is a static IP address required?
Yes. For security, every SpotCrime API key is bound to the static IP address(es) you register. Requests from any other IP are rejected. This applies to every plan.
How is SpotCrime different from a threat-intelligence platform?
SpotCrime supplies the underlying verified incident layer — sourced, address-level crime data — rather than opinion, alerts, or a proprietary score. You keep full control of analysis and presentation inside your own tools.
Can we benchmark the cities where a principal operates?
Yes. Our free Crime Grade rates every FBI-reporting U.S. city A–F against national and state violent-crime data, so you can quickly benchmark relative risk. The full dataset is downloadable, and the API adds real-time incident detail.
