History
Likely settled by Manuel de Lisa (1772-1820), believed to be the first white man to homestead in Nebraska, who described the area as "belle vue" or "beautiful view". (NE-T18/p124) Incorporated in 1855. County seat of Sarpy County from 1857 to 1875.
